Here are some frequently asked questions for alumnae:
When I graduate, do I automatically become an alumna or do I have to complete a form to notify the Executive Headquarters?
When you graduate, you automatically make the transition from collegiate member to alumnae member. If you think there's a mistake with your graduation year, please contact the Executive Headquarters.
How do I recommend young women for Chi Omega Membership?
As an alumna you have a critical role in recruitment to recommend outstanding young women for our chapters.
Be on the lookout at your church or synagogue, in your neighborhood, and in your children's schools for great women heading off to college. Take time to get to know them and to tell them how your Chi Omega membership made you the woman you are today.
A Recruitment Information Form (RIF) written by an alumna should be sent to the Area Recruitment Information Chair (ARIC) from the hometown of the Potential New Member. The ARIC will work with local alumnae to write and sign RIFs for young women from that area going to college where there is a Chi Omega chapter.

Do I still pay dues?
No! Chi Omega does not charge national alumnae dues. Most alumnae chapters charge nominal dues (for example, $25 a year) to cover the costs of their newsletter mailings and other activities.
How do I get The Eleusis?
The Eleusis, Chi Omega's national magazine, is published three times a year. It is mailed to every alumnae member for the rest of her life - at no charge! If you're not receiving The Eleusis, please contact the Executive Headquarters to update your address information.
How do I become an active alumna?
The best way to stay involved is to join your local alumnae chapter. There are two ways to find the one closest to you: the Alumnae Chapter Locator and the "Find a Chi O" lookup tool on the Chi Omega Everyday web site. Alumnae chapters are a great way to make friends, network, and give back to your community. Each alumnae chapter is slightly different, based on the city or town. Some have several activities a month based on different interests - a resume workshop, dinner at local restaurants, a book group. Most alumnae chapters charge nominal dues (for example, $25 a year). Each alumnae chapter also elects officers - this is a great way to enhance your leadership skills!
How do I become a chapter advisor?
Contact the Personnel Advisor at the collegiate chapter in your area to let her know of your interest. You must be out of school for several years before you are eligible to serve as an advisor - until then, there are still ways to help! As an alumna, you can write RIFs for young women going through recruitment, or work with the Personnel Advisor to bring snacks during study week. Some large advisory boards use younger alumnae as assistant advisors.
How do I start a new alumnae chapter?
We want Chi Omegas in every town and city to have the benefits of fun and friendship. If you know of a group of alumnae interested in starting a new alumnae chapter, please contact the Director of Alumnae Development at the Executive Headquarters. She will help you through the steps involved in starting a new alumnae chapter.
